Ted Slawski and Dorothy Firman have been married for 35 years. They have raised three children together and are now proud grandparents. Ted has a son, a stepson, and a son-in-law. He is very close and deeply bonded to all three (although his working class background would probably have him phrase it differently). His life experience includes a long relationship with his own father and grandfather (both now deceased) and his father-in-law with whom he also has a close and caring relationship. From this vast experience he brings the wisdom of a lifetime, having always been a partner in the father and son relationship. Dorothy is the co-author of two Chicken Soup for the Mother & Daughter Soul books as well as other mother daughter work. As a longtime observer of the father/son relationship, a psychotherapist (Didi & Ted are co-founders of The Synthesis Center, a holistic counseling center), and a teacher, she brings a keen eye and deep appreciation to the powerful and beautiful relationship between fathers and sons.
